Not only did Jesus delegate His authority to us, He also gave us the same power that He operated in through the Holy Spirit so that we could carry on His work until He returns. Although the gospel came in word (proclaimed truth), it did not come in word alone: God verified its truthfulness by a display of His power through the ministry of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:1-5). We are called and commissioned by Jesus to operate in that same power today.
